The Table Management System (TMS) Edit Code Table application is the second entry point to the list of TMS views. This form differs from the TMS Table Definition (TMST) application in that it does not display attributes of the TMS view, nor does it allow you to modify security settings for TMS views.
Typically, less restrictive access is placed on this form since it does not allow you to view or maintain the details of the table, nor does it allow you to view or establish security on TMS views. Staff members that are responsible for TMS Code entry and maintenance should be granted access to this application, while system administrators should be granted access to the TMS Table Definition application. Depending on the policies and procedures set forth by your organization or institution, the same person or department may be responsible for both vie and code maintenance.
It is strongly recommended that you set security on the TMS Code Definition application (TMSC) immediately after installing Advance.
If you know all or part of a code, you can perform a keyword search to find the record.
To access the TMS Edit Code Table List application:
From the Main Menu click Go To.
When Go To appears select TMS Edit Code Table List.
Click Go. When the TMS Edit Code Table List appears, it will display a list of all existing TMS views.
To view a list of codes in the selected TMS view, click the ellipses button to the left of the Description.
If you have TMS Code Maintenance Rights, you may add, edit or remove values by clicking the appropriate menu item (New, Save, Delete) on the Form Header.
Warning: Due to the complexity of Advance, the numerous validations that it performs, and the cascading effects that deleting a TMS value can have, it is recommended that you NEVER delete a TMS code. Instead, you should indicate the code is no longer active and should not be used.
Note: Each TMS view in the TMST contains a corresponding entry in tms_tms_table_def.
