Before posting data into your Advance database, you must review your data. All data must be validated prior to posting. The Review function checks the data in the batch against TMS views, character width, check box codes, radio button values, valid numbers, valid dates and valid times. Additionally, all business rule validations take place during the validation process.
To validate the physical data:
Click Validate on the Form Header on the Transaction List or Transaction Review form.
After the validation has taken place, Validation Errors that were encountered during the validation process will display in the Validation Errors informational section on the right.
Modify the data appropriately and re-validate the data.
After the validation process has completed, the status of the row will be changed from 'Not Reviewed' to 'Validated'. Or, if the row had errors, the status will be changed from 'Errors During Validation' to 'Validated'.
Note: If the value is validated against a tms view, you may select a valid value from the drop-down list and replace the value that was detected as an error. TMS view and TMS code level security applies to drop-down lists in DataLoader, just as they do in other areas of Advance. This means that depending on the security setup and restricted use of certain TMS view and codes at your organization, you may or may not be able to select certain codes from certain drop-down lists.
