Go To allows you to quickly navigate to a specific application. By using Go To, you avoid clicking buttons and selecting page tree branches, and navigate by a series of intermediate applications and forms to get to your final destination. Go To is accessed via the Main Menu and provides a list of applications, with mnemonics and application numbers, through which you can easily scroll and make your selection.
Go To is available in two different formats, Legacy and Enhanced, and the format utilized at your institution or organization is determined by your system administrator. If Go To appears in a form within the application, your system is configured for use with Legacy Go To. If Go To appears on top of the current application in a popup, your system is configured for use with Enhanced Go To.
To use Go To:
From the Main Menu select the Go To icon.
When Go To appears, if you know the application that you wish to access, enter the application ID or mnemonic in the 'Go To Application' field. If you are not sure of the application's ID number or mnemonic, scroll through the list below and single-click the ellipsis to the left of the application you wish to access. When you click the ellipsis, the application ID will automatically populate in the 'Go To Application' field.
In the 'Open with ID' field, enter the ID (entity, prospect or proposal) or Allocation Code that you want to view in the selected application. The Open with ID field will default the ID of the current and active application (tab). If no applications are open, an ID will not default into the Open with ID field.
After you have specified an application and ID number, click the Go button.
Note: If you have previously displayed the Profile, the ID number of the entity, prospect or proposal you viewed the profile for will automatically default into the Open with ID field. When a number defaults into this field, you may always override the number provided by the system. If you do not know the ID of the entity, prospect or proposal for which you want to Go To, click the Lookup hyperlink on the Open with ID Lookup label and perform a Quick ID Lookup or place your cursor in the Open with ID and press Ctrl + F2. Performing this action will activate the Lookup utility and you will be allowed to search for the entity, prospect or proposal you wish to view in the selected application.
Tip: The list of applications in Go To can be re-sorted to display applications in a specific fashion. For example, to group applications based on the type of identifier required to access the application (entity ID number, prospect ID number, Allocation Code, etc.), click on the 'Type' heading. Performing this action will re-sort the list in ascending order. Clicking on the same heading a second time will re-sort the list in descending order.
When working with the Enhanced Go To, a user can:
Select an Application from the list.
Enter a Mnemonic in the Application field.
Enter an Advance Web Application ID or an Advance Window ID in the Open with ID field (to assist institutions and organizations migrating from Advance Windows to Advance Web).
Select an Application via auto complete by typing the first few letters (for example, type Prosp to see all Applications with Prospect in the name).
Enter an ID in the Open with ID field, only when an ID is allowed; the Open with ID field does not display when an Application that does not accept an ID is selected.
Accept the most recently accessed ID when it defaults in the Open with ID field, if one exists.
Perform an F2 lookup to locate the applicable ID, if the ID is not known.
Additionally, please note the following when working with the Enhanced Go To:
You can click Go or press Enter to initiate Go To after your selection is complete.
If an invalid Application is manually entered, the value in the Application field is highlighted to indicate the invalid entry.
If an invalid ID is entered, a message indicating the invalid ID appears.
You are navigated back to the current application if you close Go To without making a selection. You can close Go To as follows:
Click X in the upper-right corner of Go To
Press Esc
Entries in Go To are can only be accessed by users that have security access to those applications. Applications to which a user does not have access do not appear in Go To.
