Please note the following in regard to the High Value and Low Value fields and how they interact with the Values per Share, Shares and Value fields:
Only numeric values can be entered in the Shares and Value per Shares fields.
The data entered in the Value field does not affect the Amount field entered in the Gift Details form.
If you enter an amount greater than ‘0’ in both the High Value and Low Value fields, Advance will calculate the mean value of the two amounts [(High + Low)/2] and populate that value in the ‘Value/Share’ field when you tab or navigate to a different field.
If a value is present in the Value per Share field, and you enter a number in the Shares field, or vice versa, then tab out or navigate to a different field, Advance will calculate the security Value by multiplying the Value per Share times Shares (Value/Share * Shares). You may populate the Value manually or override the calculated value.
If you make a change to the High or Low value and tab out or navigate to a different field, the Value per Share will be recalculated. If you change the High or Low value to 0, the Value per Share will change to ‘0’.
If the Value per Share is recalculated or manually changed and the new Value per Share amount is greater than 0, Advance will check to see if Shares is populated. If so, Advance will recalculate the Value based on Value per Share * Shares. If Value per Share is changed to 0, Advance will not recalculate the Value.
If the Value, Value per Share and Shares are not each populated with amounts greater than 0 or the Value, the Value per Share and Shares are populated with amounts greater than 0 and [Value = (Value/Share * Shares)], Advance saves the gift.
If the Value, Value per Share and Shares are populated with amounts greater than 0 and [Value <> (Value/Share * Shares)], Advance will present the user with a warning that indicates the value entered does not match the calculated value of Values per Share * Shares. When this message appears, you can click OK to save the information and proceed or Cancel to revise the entry.
If the High Value and Low Value are both greater than 0 and the High Value is less than the Low Value, Advance will return you to the New Gift application and inform you the Low Value must be less than the High Value or both values must be 0 before the transaction can be saved.
