There are several mechanisms that allow you to tailor Advance in order to fit the needs of your organization or institution, which include, but are not limited to the following:
Web Configuration File - This file (web.config) is stored in the root directory where Advance is installed. It contains information regarding the authentication and authorization methods, security parameters, report providers, etc. This file may be edited using any text editor.
Cascading Style Sheet - This file (style.css) is stored in the styles directory where Advance is installed. It contains information regarding the styles (headings, fonts, etc.) that are used by Advance. This file may be edited using any text editor.
Configuration Utility - The Configuration Utility allows you to modify the various forms, pages, controls and applications that are used by Advance. Additionally, the Configuration Utility is the mechanism that allows you to add reports to Advance.
System Option Settings - These values are set upon initial installation and may be changed by each organization or institution to configure Advance to enforce certain operational rules as appropriate to your policies and procedures. Options 1 through 999 are reserved for use with the base product. Organizations may add their own system options, but are urged to use option numbers greater than 1000.
Note: System Option maintenance is performed using the Advance Configuration Utility.
