Features of Reports

For additional information, please refer to the Advance Reporting User Guide.

All three reporting solutions (Web Forms, DataWindow and Crystal) will share features; in some cases deployment will vary based upon the tool.  The common features to reports in Advance are:

Parameterized Reports (Prompts)

Supported by using Web Forms to build the parameters being fed to the report format.  Up to 32 parameters may be utilized.

Drill-down/Hypertext

Reports can be designed that will support drilling down directly to Advance data.  There are nine available drill-down types:

Print Format

All reports provide a printer-friendly format, varying based upon report types and tools.  Print View formats open in a new form.  Each tool will offer variations of pagination (first page, previous page, next page, last page) and exporting to desktop (Excel, PDF, txt, etc.)

Save Output Data

Data being output in a report format can be saved as an output file.  The file formats vary by the tool (Web Form, Powerbuilder, InfoMaker, Crystal) being used to format the report.  Common outputs would be saving as txt or xls output.  Additionally, Crystal Reports supports outputting as PDF.

Sort/Filter

The ability to sort/filter report results will vary based upon the reporting tool utilized in the report format design.

Integrated Security

Security on reports is defined within the Configuration Utility.  Users only see the reports they are allowed to access.
