For additional information, please refer to the Advance Web Reporting User Guide.
Advance Web supports DataWindow (InfoMaker/PowerBuilder) reports, with the exception of Graph, OLE, Richtext and Composite (nested). These reports can be installed and added to the following:
Reports - Accessible from the Report application link on the Main Menu.
Context Sensitive - Accessible from the application Action menu on the Entity, Prospect, Proposal and Program Prospect forms.
To add a DataWindow report to Advance Web:
In the Configuration Utility, from the Main Menu select Tools, Configuration then Report DataWindows.
From the Edit Menu click New.
If your report is stored in a DataWindow, click Select DW From Library and search for the .pbl in which the Report DW is located. If the .pbl you select has multiple DataWindows, specify the DataWidow you wish to use.
If your report is stored in a Syntax File (.srd), click Open Syntax File and search for the .srd file. Once you have located the .srd file, click Open.
Enter additional information where appropriate, then click Save.
From the Main Menu select Web, Web Admin, then Reports.
When the Web Reports Maintenance window appears, click New.
Enter the Name of the Report.
In the Type drop-down list, select a value of Reports to indicate the report is for use with Advance Web.
In the Report System drop-down list, select a value of DataWindow.
In the PB Report Name drop-down list, select the Report from step 8 above.
Select a Report Group based on the type of report that you are adding.
Click Insert in the Report Security DataWindow and grant and/or deny security to Rights Groups. The report will not be visible to users if you do not grant access to the report.
Enter additional information where appropriate, then click Save.
Note: Giving Summary, Bio Summary, Membership Summary and PT Summary reports are not supported.
Note: The SQL data source for a DataWindow report can be embedded in the report or in a Stored Procedure.
Note: Prior to setting up your report for Advance Web, if your institution or organization also uses Advance Windows, you can set up the report for use with Advance Windows first to confirm that it is working correctly.
Note: For Datawindow reports that require prompts, a prompt datawindow must be loaded for the report even though a Web Form prompt is actually used for the prompting.
