DataLoader Batch - Batch Summary

Batch Overview provides a 'snapshot' of the batch and a breakdown of the types of data contained in the batch. If the batch contains multiple types of data, one row for each type will appear in the Batch Summary form.

To display the Batch Summary and select a batch to review, validate and post:

  1. Select Batch Overview from the page tree while current on a batch. If you are not current on a batch, select DataLoader – Batch Maintenance from Go To (Application ID 46, DLBM), enter a batch ID and click Go.

  2. Select Batch Overview from the page tree when the DataLoader – Batch Maintenance Application appears.

  3. Select Transaction List from the Page Tree. When the Transaction List appears, perform the necessary review, validate and post process.

 Fields:

Type

The type of data included in the batch. If multiple types of data are included in the batch, one row for each type of data will appear.

Total

The total number of transactions in the batch for the type of data.

Posted

The number of transactions in the batch that have been successfully posted. Posted means the row has been loaded. Once posted, the row status may not be changed.  All rows must have a status of Posted or Discarded in order for a batch to attain a status of 'Complete'.

Not Reviewed

The number of transactions in the batch that have not been reviewed. Not Reviewed means the row has not been validated or posted.

Validated

The number of transactions in the batch that have not been validated. Validated means the row has valid data, which can be posted, and if you have modified any data from the source (SmartCall or AWC), that data has been saved back to the batch (along with the merged data from Advance in the case of a Modify).  This happens when the validation is performed independently of posting the row with the intent to load.  Rows are also validated if you choose to Post a row that has not been validated, or the row has been validated but subsequently changed.

Validation Errors

The number of transactions in the batch that have been validated and have errors. Errors during Validation means that a validation was attempted, and errors were encountered during the validation process. This status may also indicate validation errors that occurred as the result of Posting the data.

Post Errors

The number of transactions in the batch that have been posted with errors.  Error during Post means that an error occurred during the posting of the row.

Deferred

The number of transactions in the batch that were deferred. Deferred means the row is not ready to be loaded. This status may be used in order to defer a row that contains data entry errors or requires additional research before it can be validated and posted. In this case, deferring the row while additional research is conducted will not affect the posting of other rows in the batch. Thus, all other rows in the batch can be posted, and this one can remain deferred until it is ready to be validated and posted.

Discarded

The number of transactions in the batch that were discarded prior to posting. Discarded means that the row will not be loaded. This status may be used in order to reject the posting of the row, however, rows that contain this status will still remain in the list and you may decide to Recover the row at any time and continue with posting the row. Batches that contain rows with a status of Discarded may be considered Complete if the only other statuses contained within the batch are Posted.
